Elk Grove Police Arrest Suspect For Shoplifting, Passing Counterfeit Cash

January 22, 2015 |

Elk Grove Police arrested an Antioch woman yesterday afternoon after she allegedly tried to shoplift and make a purchase with counterfeit money.

According to police reports, 34-year old Brianna Williams was detained for suspected shoplifting at the Nugget Market on Elk Grove Boulevard. Williams also reportedly tried to purchase merchandise with a $100 bill that was found to be counterfeit.

When contacted by Elk Grove Police, Williams reportedly provided false information about her identity. After obtaining her name, a records search revealed that Williams had arrest warrants from the Antioch and Concord police departments.

Williams was arrested and is being held at the county jail on a $70,000 bail.
