Elk Grove child endangerment

June 28, 2016 |

An Elk Grove man is being held at the Sacramento County Jail facing charges of probation violation, domestic violence and child endangerment.

Shortly after midnight on Monday Elk Grove Police officers contacted 21-year old Richard Cardenas (pictured above) on the 5100 block of Dipper Way to conduct a welfare check after receiving a call regarding erratic behavior. Officers arrived and located Cardenas sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle with an infant on his lap.

Cardenas was detained and the child was turned over to family members. The suspect was arrested, booked into the county jail and is being held on a $60,000 bail.
