Blade Flashed, Gun Brandished in Elk Grove Weed Deal Gone Bad

August 18, 2016 |

An early morning Elk Grove weed deal ended with a handgun brandished, knife wounds and a vehicle chase that finished with a collision into a tree and fire hydrant.

Shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning, a party of three were in the process of buying marijuana from two suspects on the 8800 block of Aquarius Avenue in central Elk Grove. During the transaction, one of the suspects described as a Hispanic male adult flashed a knife while the other suspect described as a white male adult brandished a handgun and tried grabbing money from one of the victims.

During the ensuing altercation between the parties, one of the victims' victims attempted to disarm the knife-wielding suspect which resulted in cuts to his hand. When the victims drove away from the location, the suspects pursued them in their vehicle.

During the chase, the vehicle that the victim was in struck a fire hydrant and a tree. The suspects fled the location in their vehicle.

Elk Grove Police officers arrived at the scene and contacted the victims. The victim with the knife wound was taken to a local area hospital for medical treatment, and the suspects were not located.
