A man wanted in connection with a South Sacramento murder was arrested this afternoon in Placer County.

At about 3:30 p.m. on March 28, 2017, the Lincoln, Calif. Police Department received a 911 call from an unknown male stating he shot a woman in a mobile home located on Coed Lane in South Sacramento. Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded residence located in the 8200 block of Coed Lane in South Sacramento and found a 24-year old female victim with a gunshot wound to the head who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Department responded to the dead end of old Highway 65 in Sheridan, and located the subject’s vehicle. The 25-year old male suspect whose name has not been released, was detained without incident.

Sheriff’s deputies took custody of the male subject, and transported him to detectives to be interviewed regarding the incident. It appears the male and female victim had a relationship, but it is still unknown the extent of that relationship.

The identity of the victim in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to her next of kin.
