A 14-year old male suspect from Sacramento was arrested after he attempted an armed robbery in Elk Grove.

In the late afternoon of Wednesday, November 29, the victim was walking near Blossom Ridge Drive and Whitelock Parkway in Elk Grove's East Franklin neighborhood when two people approached him. One of the people, the 14-year old suspect, pointed a firearm and demanded his cell phone.

After the victim complied, the suspect's accomplice returned the phone to the victim who then left the scene and contacted Elk Grove Police. Responding officers located the suspect and two others a short distance away from the scene.

After the victim positively identified the suspect, he was arrested. The suspect, who was also in possession of an unloaded handgun, was booked into juvenile hall.
