Elk Grove Police officers hear screams, suspect arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

An Elk Grove man is being held at the Sacramento County Jail on domestic violence charges after police heard screams from his victim.

Just after 11:30 p.m. Elk Grove Police officers were responding to a call for service at an undisclosed location withing the city when they heard screams from a nearby dwelling. When officers attempted contact with the occupants of the residence, they refused to exit.

Eventually Zion Christopher Weaver, 18, exited and when officers attempted to detain him, he resisted. After detaining Weaver, a record check showed he was on probation.

The victim had sustained visible injuries. Weaver is held on one misdemeanor and two felony charges and will be arraigned on Thursday, August 23.
