Sacramento's hipster 'farm to fork' gets attention, ranks in Top 20 foodie city nationally

October 9, 2018 |

Sacramento's farm to fork marketing efforts has paid a dividend in a just-released rating of the countries top foodie cities.

In a rating compiled by personal finance website WalletHub.com, Sacramento was ranked in their 2018 survey of Best Foodie Cities in America. The survey looked at 180 cities across the country.

In making their determination, WalletHub looked not only at interest among local consumers in dining experiences but affordability as well.  As noted in the survey findings, "our dataset ranges from cost of groceries to affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants to food festivals per capita."

Not surprisingly, the survey ranked Portland, Oregon as the top foodie city. Other California cities landing in the top 20 included San Francisco, which came in 2nd, Los Angeles ranked 5th, San Diego was 9th, and Oakland followed Sacramento coming earning 19th place.

Elk Grove was not included in the survey. The entire study can be viewed here
