Inmate from Netflix series 'Jailbirds' arrested by Elk Grove Police, back in Sacramento County Jail

An inmate featured in the Netflix series on female inmates at the Sacramento County Jail was arrested Friday afternoon by Elk Grove Police on mutliple charges.
On Friday, May 17, police responded to a call regarding a suspicious circumstance at the Safe Credit Union on the 9100 block of Bruceville Road. The caller told police dispatch that a female was inside the bank trying to open a checking and savings account with an identification card, not in her name.
The caller further recognized the female suspect as Megan “Monster” Hawkins, 29, from the Netflix show "Jailbirds." Before officers arrived, Hawkins walked out of the bank to an unknown location.

Responding officers learned the vehicle Hawkins had driven to the bank was a reported stolen vehicle and located her a short distance away. After detaining Hawkings, a search of the stolen vehicle led to the discovery of several credit cards in different people’s names and a controlled substance.

Hawkins was arrested for various charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of personal identifying information, and violation of probation. Hawkins is being held on a $10,000 bail and will be arraigned on Tuesday, May 21.
