Ajudicated tresspasser arrested after shoving Elk Grove retail employee, shoplifting

An Elk Grove man who had a no-trespass notice was arrested by Elk Grove Police after violating the order and assaulting an employee.

Just after 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10, Romero Antonio Torres, 32, was in the Dollar Tree store on Sheldon Road in Elk Grove when a store employee approached him and was asked to leave the premises. Instead of complying, Torres allegedly shoved the employee and fled the store with stolen merchandise.

Torres was arrested after being located by responding officers.   Torres, who is on probation, is held on four misdemeanor charges and will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 12.
