Fireworks stand in Elk Grove robbed, assailants drive over volunteer worker


A volunteer working at an Elk Grove fireworks stand was injured during a robbery where the assailants assaulted drove over the victim. 
Just after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 five suspects arrived at a fireworks stand on the 8700 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. One of the four suspects exited a vehicle and took a large package of fireworks and returned to the vehicle.
When the victim attempted to stop the robbers, another accomplice grabbed the victim by the arm while the vehicle drove off resulting in an injury. Another suspect hit the victim causing them to fall to the ground where the driver ran over the victim. 
Three of the five suspects were described as Black male adults and the other two were females. The suspects fled on Elk Grove Boulevard in a dark-colored SUV.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
