Stockton Police to conduct DUI, driver's license checkpoint

The Stockton Police Department has announced they will conduct a DUI and driver's license checkpoint.

The checkpoint will be conducted on Saturday, February 15 between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Sunday, February 16. The location of the checkpoint will be in Stockton city limits but the exact location has not been disclosed.

DUI Checkpoints like this one are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests. Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, with officers checking drivers for proper licensing.
Stockton Police reminds drivers that “DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.” If you take prescription drugs, particularly those with a driving or operating machinery warning on the label, you might be impaired enough to get a DUI. Marijuana can also be impairing, especially in combination with alcohol or other drugs, and can result in a DUI.
