Previous to this, the majority of Moua's campaign contributions have been generated from individual contributions. Long active in Elk Grove politics, Plumbers and Pipefitters 447 is a longtime supporter of Mayor Steve Ly, who has offered assistance to Moua and other Elk Grove candidates in recent mailers which has been reported as a $1,849 in-kind contribution.

In recent days Suen also received a labor union contribution of $1,000 from the California Conference Board of Amalgamated Transit Union.
