With voting closing in a little more than 28 hours in the 2020 elections, Elk Grove Mayoral candidate Boobie Singh-Allen and campaign volunteers have continued their efforts to turn out voters. Singh-Allen, a Trustee with the Elk Grove Unified School District is challenging two-term incumbent Steve Ly.

As part of their get out the vote efforts, Singh-Allen was campaigning this afternoon in Elk Grove's East Franklin neighborhood on the city's west side. We met Singh-Allen who was working the precinct with a volunteer early this afternoon near Stephenson Family Park. See video below.

Although there is a third candidate, Brian Pastor, vying for the mayoral position, Singh-Allen has mounted a significant challenge to Ly who was first elected mayor in 2016 after he won a seat on the Elk Grove City Council in 2014. Since starting directly elected mayor races in 2012, this contest is considered the most hotly contested race and controversial in the eight-year history.
