In years past, Elk Grove held what was acknowledged as one of the better Veterans Day Parades in the Sacramento Region. Unfortunately, the last time veteran groups were able to parade and residents were able to honor the men and women who served our country in uniform was in 2019 and 2017.
As many will recall, in 2018 Northern California was engulfed in toxic smoke from the Camp Fire. Out of health considerations, the parade was canceled.
In 2020 and this year the annual parade was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nonetheless, we remember those who served on this 11th day of November in 2021.
