With the 12:15 a.m. vote tallies released, Rod Brewer has maintained his first-place position in the three-candidate race for Elk Grove City Council District 2.

Brewer, the three-tern Cosumnes Community Services District Director, has 42 percent with 2,018 votes. Felipe Martin is in third place with 1,486 votes for 31 percent, and Michelle Kile has 1,228 votes for 25 percent.

Last night we spoke with Kile and Brewer after the first tallies were released at 8:15. Their comments can be viewed in the videos posted below.

Although Brewer has maintained his first-place standing, his percentage of the total has slightly slipped from the first tally, and the gap between Martin and Kile has narrowed with Kile gaining. More vote tallies are needed to affirm the winner in this contest.
