With the current lead, State Senate District 8 candidate Ashby expresses caution in post-election statement

Even though she currently has the lead in the California State Senate District 8 race, a statement from Angelique expressed caution.

Last night's statement noted there were many uncounted votes. Following the release of two tallies on election night and one early yesterday morning, the next tranche of votes will be released at 4 p.m. on Friday.

"There are many votes yet to be counted, and we are optimistic about the results so far," Ashy said in the statement.

Over 67,000 votes have been counted, and Ashy currently leads Dave Jones 51.97 to 48.03 percent.

"Our campaign is grateful for all the support and deeply thankful to all the volunteers who put so much effort into sharing our priorities and vision," Ashby said.
