Robbery victim recovers stolen bike on Craigslist

Bicycle thefts are all too common. Who hasn’t had one stolen or knows someone who has been a victim.

Recently Stormy Jaynes’ bicycle was stolen while shopping at Bed, Bath and Beyond in Elk Grove. Jaynes then took it upon herself to recover her wheels.

Jaynes soon found a listing on Craigslist.org matching her bike. Jaynes made arrangements to meet the seller and sought the assistance of police.

When the 15-year old suspect arrived with the bike, police officers arrested the youth for procession of stolen property. The victim was able to identify the bike based on the serial number and other identifying details.

Officers also discovered the juvenile suspect was in procession of narcotics. The suspect was arrested and transported to juvenile hall.
