After brief downturn, Elk Grove foreclosure activity trends up

After several weeks off downward activity, foreclosure activity in Elk Grove has increased as gauged buy foreclosure notices in the Elk Grove Citizen.

Display advertising has also returned to pre-election levels. During the weeks leading up the election the Citizen had 3.75, 1.75, 1.5 and 1.4 pages of political ads in four consecutive editions.

With the Christmas shopping season upon us, it will be to see if local advertisers will be willing to put forth extra money for their most cruicla time of the years. If they don't, at least in the Citizen, this will be foretelling for many of the independent retailers who use that publication.

A glance at the classified in the Citizen as well as various online site shows retailers have not geared up with seasonal hiring as in the past. Could be a very tough year for Elk Grove retailers.
