Jimmie Johnson loses; Davis rebuked?

Elk Grove Democrat Mayor Gary Davis' choice for the Cosumnes Community Services District, Republican Jimmie Johnson has lost his bid.

With 83% of precincts reporting, Johnson has garnered only 12% of the vote. We can safely say that Johnson will not be seated on CCSD.

While Johnson's defeat is startling, what is is interesting how Davis tried to use his clout to support a member of an opposing political party. Davis' endorsement did not carry the heft that Johnson, or Davis for that matter, had hoped.
