Also owes City of Elk Grove Over $322 Grand

According to a story published by the Sacramento Bee, Chicago-based General Growth Properties (GGP) is being sued by six contractors who have worked on The Elk Grove Promenade.

The beleaguered developer also owes Elk Grove $322,000 in development fees.

GGP's financial woes have been well documented and expectations are that if they cannot refinance their multi-billion dollar debt or sell several malls, a Chapter 11 bankruptcy is in the offing.

Among the contractors suing is JD2 Inc., an engineering and construction firm, that claims to be owed $4.2 millions. The total claims among the six plaintiffs totals over $12.9 million.
