What legitimate purpose do we have to know the names of the citizens that were charged with breaking the law? Is it just to publicly humiliate them, their friends, and their families? Have some newsworthy stories, or please don't ruin people's families' lives when you have nothing of worth to report.

Yes it is to humiliate and detour them from doing this again. Sounds like this is a sore subject for someone. Hmmm.

Maybe if we posted the names it just might create the awareness that this person who is driving impaired will at some point drive & KILL someone who is innocent. We could also post the Judges names (who let them off with a slap on the hand) along with the offending people for some accountability.

people are innocent until proven guilty there names should not be printed.

What a joke you can go to any park in elk grove or behind any grocery store and watch our local hoods use and distribute drugs at will.

These check points are just attempt to make the public think there police force is making a difference.

I would like to set up a check point at a donut shop to see if they are really on break. You shouldn't be stopped until you have done somehting. If they really want to get the drunks off the road, set it up at the bar exit. Duh! Do we have to be a rocket engineer to figure this one out.

is this really about alcohol? I do not think so , I believe it is about generating capitol. I believe it is an opportunity to bust people without drivers licenses , registration and insurance all of which are wrong to drive without, but nonetheless it is about generating money not public safety. personally I think of Nazi Germany when I see these things. Careful what rights we give away so freely.
