Elk Grove City Council To Deliberate '10 Budget Cuts Tonight

The 2010 budget will be the main focus of tonight's Elk Grove City Council meeting that starts at 6:00 pm.

Faced with declining sales and property tax revenues, city manager Laura Gill advised council members at the May 27 meeting that the city will need to cut expenses.

The city council will also have a closed session prior to regular meeting where it is expected Gill report to the council on negotiations with the Elk Grove Police Officers Association. The police officers are the only city employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

In addition to the budget deliberations, the council will consider a fee waiver request for the Jubilee Community Worship Center and a $60,000 contract with Velocity Sports Performance to provide a one year law enforcement oriented fitness program.
