Two people were arrested Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated, the Elk Grove Police Department reported.

Eric Rammig, 42, of Elk Grove, was stopped at 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 9500 block of Emerald Park Drive for unstated “vehicle code violations.”

He was arrested after allegedly displaying “objective signs of impairment” related to operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, police reports stated.

Later that Sunday, Sacramento resident Duc Tran, 45, was stopped about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Elk Grove Boulevard and Four Winds Drive on suspicion of drunk driving, police reports indicated.

Tran was arrested after displaying “objective sings of impairment,” reports said.

In a separate and unrelated incident, a man and a woman were arrested about 3 p.m. at the Kohl’s store on petty theft and drug charges, police reports indicated.

Julianna Rivera, 21, and Paul Perez, 18, both of Stockton, were detained by store security guards who called Elk Grove police for assistance. Merchandise valued at about $1,100 was recovered.

A subsequent search of Rivera’s vehicle turned up other allegedly stolen merchandise valued at more than $400 and narcotics paraphernalia.

The two were transported to the Sacramento County jail.
