The City of Elk Grove and Sacramento County will hold a series of public outreach meetings in March regarding the city’s Sphere of Influence (SOI) application.

The city’s SOI application seeks to annex unincorporated areas on the city south side along the Cosumnes River. The SOI has faced resistance from several groups, including the Wilton Action Group.

The four meetings will be held at Elk Grove City Hall at 6:30 PM on March 2, 11, 16 and 31. The First and last meeting’s discussion focus is for the general public while the meeting on the 11th will focus on floodplain and transition zone property owners and the meeting on the 16th will be a discussion focused on environmental interest groups.

Additional information can be viewed at the city’s planning department website.

I hope the community activists who spent time and money ensuring there would be no 'mall' because it bordered the 'urban boundary' will put as much energy into seeing the city isn't allowed to expand south. City influence anyplace outside its current boundary would spell disaster for any area affected by its leadership.

I cannot access the link noted for the planning department. I got an announcement from planning for the following link and it didn't work either: http://service.govdelivery.com/service/view.html?code=CAELKGR_27
I encourage everyone to come out and make your presence known, don a hat & bandana if you'd like to see EG NOT get the floodplain in their SOI. Thank you,
