A trio of Elk Grove men posing as law enforcement officers were arrested yesterday following an Elk Grove Police Department investigation of a home robbery.

According to police reports, officers responded to an "in-progress" home invasion robbery early Friday morning on the 4800 block of Roselin Way in Elk Grove. The duo were reportedly dressed in police uniforms when they forced their way into the residence.

At gunpoint the suspect handcuffed the residents and ransacked the house looking for valuables. After 20 minutes, the two suspects left the house. The occupants were not physically injured but were traumatized.

After interviewing neighbors and the victims, detectives developed a possible lead; Richford Caguiat, a 26 year-old Elk Grove parolee. Additional investigation led detectives to obtain search warrants for two homes; one on Moonlight Way and the other on Travo Way in Elk Grove.

As detectives and SWAT officers prepared to execute the search warrants, the two suspects believed to be involved in the robbery attempted to drive out of the area. Traffic stops were conducted and the two suspects were arrested without incident. The suspects; identified as, Christopher Pascua and Richard Douglas, are both 25 year-old males from Elk Grove.
A search of the suspect’s residence revealed numerous firearms, ballistic vests, handheld radios, handcuffs, a “US Marshall” hat and property belonging to the victims.

All three suspects; Caguiat, Pascua and Douglas, were all booked into Sacramento County Jail and face charges of; First Degree Robbery, Carjacking, Kidnapping, Impersonating a Peace Officer and Conspiracy.
