According to information posted on the Elk Grove City Clerk's office webpage, as of the end of business today, Tuesday, June 15, Elk Grove City Council Member Pat Hume has not yet filed an amended statement of economic interest. Over two months ago Hume said he would file an amended disclosure listing meal gifts he had received while on 2009's "Cap to Cap" lobbying trip sponsored by the Sacramento County Chamber of Commerce.

According to documents filed in March, Hume did not list meals he was found to have accepted while on last years lobbying trip. Fellow council member Gary Davis listed three meals he had received while on the same trip as Hume and Mayor Sophia Scherman.

Like Hume, Scherman was found to have not listed gift meals she had received while on the trip. Less than a day after EGN reported on the matter, Scherman filed amended forms disclosing the gifts.

At the time of a follow-up story, Hume attributed his failure to note the gift meals on his Economic Interests Statement because he said miss-located the documents during a move of his office last year.

Hume promised to file an amended form. On April 6 Hume told EGN that he would be filing an amendment form. “In the moving of offices my paperwork disappeared and so I forgot to list them,” Hume said via an e-mail correspondence.

It's hard to imagine why Mr. Hume would neglect to file such a simple Amended Schedule D. Can someone please volunteer to help him out...will only take about 5 minutes of your time.

Surely our "Elected City Council" person is not thumbing his nose at Elk Grove. That's childish and immature.....time to grow up Pat and stop leaning on Ms. Scherman to bail you out. That could be a downward spiral!

If Council Member Hume is willing to hide a few dinners from some lobbying group and not willing to report it, it makes you wonder if he is dragging his feet on reporting them because he has something much larger that he has also "misplaced" and forgot to report.
