Suspect Chavez Jordan |
Upon arrival, officers contacted the 15-year-old caller who indicated that he was home with his younger brothers (ages 13 and 10) when he heard someone ringing the door bell. When the 15-year-old looked through the peephole of the front door, he saw two males, one Asian and the other African-American. As the 15-year-old opened the front door, the Asian male displayed a handgun and both suspects forced their way into the residence.
Once inside the home, the 15-year-old resident was handcuffed by the African-American suspect. The two other siblings were confronted by the suspects and ordered to stay in their rooms. The suspects went through the house and removed three televisions (two 55-inch sets), as well as other electronic items, jewelry and personal property before leaving through a side garage door.
Officers began canvassing the neighborhood and contacted three individuals at a residence next door to the victim residence. Officers determined that one of the individuals detained was on probation.
A probation search of the residence led to the discovery of two 55-inch televisions inside a bedroom closet. Officers also discovered additional property inside the residence that was taken from the victim residence. The victim later confirmed that the items located in the next door neighbors residence had been stolen in the robbery.
As a result of their investigation, officers arrested 19-year-old Chavez Jordan. Jordan was arrested on charges of 212.5 PC – Residential Robbery, 207 PC – Kidnapping and 182 PC – Conspiracy.
