Suspect is considered armed and dangerous

The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating 52-year-old Lovie James. James is wanted in connection with the beating of his 69-year-old female roommate during an argument.

On February 4, 2011, officers responded to the 8700 block of Lewie Way regarding an assault. The 69-year-old female victim indicated that she was in the process of evicting James from the residence when an argument erupted.

James reacted violently and assaulted the victim punching her in the head and face. James also choked the victim then poured gasoline inside the residence and threatened to burn down the house. James fled the residence in the victim’s vehicle (recovered two days later) when a relative arrived home.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment and was in the intensive care unit for several days.

Lovie James is described as an African-American male adult, six feet tall (6’0”), two hundred pounds (200 lbs), with black hair and brown eyes. Lovie James should be considered armed and dangerous. A no bail felony warrant has been issued for his arrest.
