Although last night's Elk Grove City Council meeting was finished in a little over a hour and the official business took mere minutes to conduct, the meeting nonetheless acted a forum for Elk Grove citizen's to speak on last week's horrific shooting of two Elk Grove Sikh men.

Aside from the comments of Mayor Steve Detrick and fellow council members offering works of support in the aftermath of the shooting that one left one victim dead, several members of the community to the opportunity to express their thoughts.

Among then were Attorney Amar Shergill who spoke on part of a larger contingent of Sikh's in attendance and  for the larger community. See Shergill's comments in the video below:



Not without irony, in Washington DC today, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) held Congressional hearings on so-called home grown Muslim terrorism. Addressing the hearing was one of two Muslim Congressional members, Keith Ellison (D-Minn.). See his testimony below.
