An Auburn man was tasered to no avail and was involved in struggle with an Elk Grove Police early Friday morning.
According to police department reports, officers were dispatched to the 230 block of Longport Drive after receiving reports of suspicious activity in the parking lot. Responding officers approached 42-year old Robert Turner of Auburn who was seated in the driver's seat of his vehicle.

As officers approached the vehicle, Turner reportedly exited the vehicle and refused to follow officers instructions to sit on the ground. The suspect then placed his hands in his pocket and when the officer attempted to gain physical control, he pushed the officer and ran away.

The officer then tasered Turner which had no effect on him and pulled the prongs out and began fighting with the officer. After several minutes of struggle, the officer with the assistance of other responding officers were able to subdue Turner.

The suspect displayed signs of impairment and a search led to the discovery of narcotics paraphernalia. After being medically cleared, Turner was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
