Another Elk Grove payday lender robbed

Last Wednesday's armed robbery of the California Check store on Elk Grove Boulevard marked the second armed robbery of payday lenders in Elk Grove in the last two weeks.

According to Elk Grove Police Department reports, last Wednesday two unknown suspects entered the California Check Cashing Store at 9:38 a.m. and confronted two employees inside the business. One of the suspects pointed a small handgun at an employee and demanded money.

After the employee complied with the demand, the two suspects fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and were last seen running toward the Wal Mart parking lot. Responding officers were unable to locate either suspect.

The first suspect, who was armed, was described as a black male adult wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, white long sleeve shirt with dark colored pants and had a Band-Aid on his face. The second suspect was described as a black male adult wearing a white beanie, sunglasses, and a gray/black long sleeve shirt with dark colored pants.
