Sheldon Road And Waterman Road intersection.

Workshop tonight

A public meeting will be held at tonight at 6:00 p.m. K. Albiani Middle School, 9140 Bradshaw Road, Elk Grove, to present alternatives and obtain public input for improving traffic flow at three intersections in the rural area of Elk Grove.

The City is in the process of developing alternatives to improve traffic flow at these intersections:

Sheldon Road / Bradshaw Road
Sheldon Road / Waterman Road
Bond Road / Bader Road

These intersection currently are all stop sign controlled and do not operate well at peak times in the morning and afternoon. The City is following the Rural Road Improvement Policy to develop alternatives to relieve peak hour congestion at these three intersections. Traffic counts were taking in February 2011.

Concept alternatives have been developed for the Sheldon Road/Waterman Road and Sheldon Road/Bradshaw Road Intersections that include roundabouts as well widening at the intersection and adding signals. The only conceptual alternative that is currently being considered for the Bond Road/Bader Road is to simply add signals with no widening needed.

After hearing from the public, city staff will present input from the meeting to City Council for direction to proceed with the Capital Improvement process.

The city is holding two meetings on the same night.......guess I have to flip a coin to see which to attend tonight. Road alternatives or Food Trucks? Wait, and again on Monday for the E. Stockton Soundwall. Why so many public meetings in such a short time frame during the busiest month of the year?
