While many people use a portion of their Sundays to relax or worship at church, several people used their Sunday to shoplift at the Elk Grove's Wal Mart.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, officers were dispatched to the Elk Grove Blvd. store twice yesterday in response to two shoplifting incidents. A total of five people were arrested in the two incidents.

In the first incident, three Sacramento adult females and one juvenile female were arrested after they left the store with several bags of merchandise. Responding officers located three of the suspects in a car in the parking lot and the fourth suspect was located inside the store.

Police arrested 18-year-old Corneisha Thompson, 29-year-old Nakeya Davis, 18-year-old Marnee Fraser and a 16-year old. Fraser was also found to have two outstanding arrest warrants and to be in possession of illegal narcotics.

In the second incident, 23-year old Kevin Scherer of Elk Grove was observed leaving the store without paying for his merchandise. After a brief struggle with store security personnel, Scherer fled.

Responding officers located the suspect a short distance away and was taken into custody and arrested without incident.
