Bishop Jaime Soto presided over the mass that included several area parish priest including Msgr. Albert O'Conner, longtime parish priest of Elk Grove's St. Joseph's parish. Fr. Terry Fulton is the parish priest for the new church.

It is good to see that Mr. Detrick has made peace with the parish of St. Maria Goretti. A cynic may view it as pandering for Mr. Detick to join the parish, but the whole matter brought him him back to his faith, or it seems. For those who practice Christianity or any of the major monotheistic religions, allowing one to be forgiven is a main tenet of fatih.
Altough some neighobors still aren't happy with this church due to its location, it's great to see most are collaborating for the good of the community and city of elk grove. Mr diertrick has been a great no partisan parishioner as all the others that attend for the main reason they are there for. This is for the community and not just for the selected few. This only makes the city of elk grove a better city for the present and the future.
