Recent visitors and shoppers of the Elk Grove Automall have undoubtedly noticed the newest addition to the city's sales tax mecca - wayfinding signs.

Although the city has been exploring citywide wayfinding signs as a way to promote noteworthy destinations and as an economic development instrument, the city recently purchased and installed 10 of the signs within the the automall. Each of the 10 signs direct shoppers and visitors to the 22 dealers from various locations within the automall.

City documents reveal the signs costs $12,617. The city clerk's office said the city does not currently possess any information as to the cost of installing the signs, but when those documents become available, copies will be provided.

Maybe we can buy the dealerships some landscaping too. That sign looks like it is standing in the middle of DIRT! Let's get some roving food trucks out there and give their employees free burritos and burgers too!

Spot, get away from those fenceposts!!!

If you need signs to find auto mall...you shouldn't be driving

These signs are not to point the way to the Automall....the citizens spent money on signs 'WITH IN' auto mall so that once the customer has arrived on site, they known which way to go to find the Toyota dealership!! Why didn't the owners of the dealerships pay for these signs. They were signs put up INSIDE the auto mall....not directional sign throughout Elk Grove. If someone cannot find the Toyota dealership by driving around the loop, then perhaps that person shouldn't have a license.
