A victim of a Friday afternoon shooing in Elk Grove is reportedly not cooperating with police in their investigation of the incident.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers were dispatched to the Kunsting Park on Wild Orchid Way regarding a reported shooting. Upon arrival officers were told that someone had been shot and discovered evidence verifying this but were unable to locate the victim.

A short time later, EGPD received a call from a local area hospital 18-year old Virgon Slaughter who had been transported in a private vehicle and was suffering from non life-threatening injuries. At this time, the victim has not been cooperative and the suspect was described as possibly being a white male adult.

Not sure about this, but anytime a shooting victim is unwilling to talk, it sounds like both parties may have been up to no good. A drug deal gone bad in one of Elk Grove's parks perhaps?

It's pretty clear he knew who shot him. Unfortunately, this is a tale of the snitching culture where if he had told, he or his family would have been in further danger. Sadly, if most of us were put in the same situation, we probably would not have spoken up. We need to strengthening our watch over this park as obviously, some of the scum around us feel they can own that park.
