At a reception held at Mikuni in Elk Grove last Thursday, Elk Grove community leader and noted fundraiser Teresa Rodriguez announced the opening of her own event planning company, Teresa Rodriguez Event Planning.
At a reception held at Mikuni in Elk Grove last Thursday, Elk Grove community leader and noted fundraiser Teresa Rodriguez announced the opening of her own event planning company, Teresa Rodriguez Event Planning.
Welcoming the over 50 guests in attendance Mikuni owner Taro Arai, chided Rodriguez for finally taking the plunge.

“It is about time,” he said.
Other speakers included Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis, who echoed Arai’s comments.
"No one puts on events better than Teresa and I am looking forward to putting on more of them with her in the future,” Davis said.
Rodriguez has been Davis’ intern for many years and is currently the First Vice President of the Elk Grove Lion’s Club along with sitting on several non-profit boards that serve Elk Grove.
In addressing her guests, Rodriguez said she had been approached for several years to open her own company, and noted the “The timing was right.” Rodriguez stated she already has signed on clients including Zafia’s Family House 5K-10K Walk/Run, Elk Fest Community BBQ, 49ers Players Bowling Tournament, Seyi Ajirotutu Golf Tournament and Lance Briggs' Golf Tournament.
Rodriguez has received testimonials from Marie Jachino, Executive Director of Elk Grove Food Bank Services; Craig and Emily Nash, owners of Nash Travels; Jesse James, owner of One Source Media Group; Elk Grove Council member Jim Cooper and Davis which can be viewed on her company's website at www.teresarodriguezevents.com.

Is Rodriquez still Davis's intern? Will her past/current connections to the city afford her some business she would not otherwise be entitled to? Is this Rodriquez the same who hooked up with Crazy Connie to put on other events? I would carefully approach anyone whose common sense thought it was OK to partner with CC. Now, if Rodriquez is no longer associated with the city or CC, then I wish her all the luck in the world.

I have known Ms. Rodriguez for over 20 years. She has been a tireless fundraiser for that entire time....long before meeting Gary Davis.
Ms. Rodriguez's success does not rely upon political, familial, friendly or other connections. She has built a solid foundation over the past 20 plus years with her hard work, dedication, compassion and commitment.
Knowing Ms.Rodriguez as I do, I can state with certainty that throwing bricks at her will not deter her from becoming an even greater success than she already is.
Wow, Anon above seems a bit defensive. That attitude alone would give me reservations on this new business...and if she doesn't rely on political ties, family or friends to promote and endorse her business then she's not being very smart. Where else will her business find it's customers.
