Between domestic violence, shoplifters, drunk drivers and public drunkenness, the Elk Grove Police Department had a busy weekend.

According to police reports, there were two dozen arrests the period from Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11 at midnight. Among the arrests were seven arrests for DUI, three domestic violence incidents, two for public intoxication, four active warrants and one for illegal possession of handgun.

Police made five arrests for shoplifting with three of the incidents occurring at Elk Grove Wal Mart stores.

Among the more serious crimes was a domestic violence incident where the suspect allegedly flipped a bed the victim was lying on. The victim's head hit the wall resulting in an injury the required medical attention.
