A retail employee sustained a head injury in Elk Grove last night during a shoplifting incident.

According to Elk Grove Police, three unknown females entered the Bath and Body Works store on East Stockton Boulevard shortly before 8 p.m. and were observed shoplifting merchandise. When the suspects exited the store with the merchandise, they were approached by an employee.

A fourth male suspect was outside the store waiting in a vehicle, and when the employee attempted to detain the three suspects, the male suspect exited the vehicle and forced the employee to the ground. The employee suffered a head injury after being forced to the ground.

The four suspects fled in a silver truck with paper plates in an unknown direction. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspects or the vehicle involved.

Hope the employee is okay.

Too bad the shoplifters didn't roll their car into concrete wall.
