December 26. 2016 |

Stockton, Calif. - A woman fought off a would-be kidnapper late last night in Stockton.

The victim was near Grant and Channel streets just before midnight in the city's Civic Center District when she was approached by a man who told her to get inside his car or he would kill her.

The suspect then grabbed the victim and dragged her towards his vehicle. The suspect and the victim struggled and the victim was able to break free.

The suspect fled in a 90’s model, 2 door, red Toyota Celica in an unknown direction. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as black male, 30-40, 5’ 7”, 190 lbs., last seen wearing gray hoodie, white shirt, and blue jeans. Last Monday a schoolgirl fought off an attempted kidnapping in the Stockton's Seaport District.
