Another alleged illegal indoor marijuana growing operation was discovered in Elk Grove.

Just after 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, Elk Grove Police served five search warrants on the 4300 block of Salonika Ct., 4900 block of Coppola Circle, 5200 block of Matina Dr., 9700 block of Westfalen Way and 8600 block of Arcos Way related to an active growing operation. 

Detectives from the EGPD Street Crimes Unit recovered over 2,100 plants and 20 pounds of processed marijuana. Four suspects, three from Elk Grove and one from Brooklyn were arrested and booked into the county jail. 

The suspects from Elk Grove were Quan Lin, 65; Lin Quing, 39; Xin Weng, 48;and Xing Long Chen, 39, of Brooklyn, New York. Bail for the suspects has not yet been set and arraignments are scheduled for Friday, November 3.
