Handgun Brandished, Retail Employee Assaulted in Elk Grove Shoplifting Incident

Two unknown suspects brandished a handgun and assaulted an employee in a late night shoplifting incident in Elk Grove.

Just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, employees at the O'Reilly Auto Parts store on the 6600 block of Laguna Boulevard observed a man and woman shoplifting merchandise. When one of the employees confront the woman suspect, she reportedly threw a punch, and the male suspect brandished a handgun and threatened employees.

The duo fled the store and was seen traveling westbound on Laguna Boulevard. The male suspect was described as a black adult, in his 20s, 5'10" and thin build and his female accomplice was described as black, 20s, slim build and wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans.
