Jones' Lead Slips, But Maintains Majority in Latest Vote Updates in Sacramento County Sheriff's Race

With yesterday's update on vote tallies in the race for Sacramento County Sheriff, incumbent Scott Jones has maintained his lead over three challengers.
The results released yesterday afternoon by Sacramento County, Jones lead has nominally slipped from 54 to 53-percent over challengers Donna Cox, Milo Titch and Bret Daniels. Yesterday results show Fitch moving into second place with 21-percent to Cox's 20-percent.
In raw numbers, Jones has 75,777; Fitch has 29,885; Cox has 28,796, and Daniels has 7,488. Before yesterday's update results, the voter's registrar said there were over 230,000 uncounted ballots.
Before yesterday's update, Fitch posted on Twitter that two-thirds of votes have yet to be tabulated.

Should the final Jones fall below 50-percent, a runoff against the runner-up in the race will be held in the November general election while if he maintains his lead over 50-percent, he will be declared the victor.
