Even though Elk Grove's Civic Center has not been formally renamed as intended, one resident made a suggestion during the Wednesday, June 26 Elk city council meeting.
Through the various offices, Ms. Scherman held in Elk Grove starting with the CSD, the city council, and now the FRCD, I was never motivated to vote for her. However, Ms. Wheat makes a valid point.
When it came to getting things done in a nuts and bolts sort of way, to my memory, Ms. Scherman advocated for several projects that have positively affected day to day living for constituents. In all honesty, I cannot think of any similar accomplishments that any past or present council members can hang their hat on. And yes, Mr. Hume owes a debt to Ms. Scherman, and if anyone were to advocate, he must shoulder the responsibility.
