If there is
one thing Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen has been consistent with since taking

The excuses for not holding open City Council meetings is wearing thin. EGUSD, CSD, and Elk Water District have already resumed open meetings. And even lowly Galt announced last week that they will be resuming open Council meetings. City Council, I know you can control the optics better with your social media pages, but it's time to face your constituents face to face, as politically risky as you feel that may be.
We have found that all city facilities require that a mask be worn when entering and Planning and Council meetings are conducted using Zoom. At this time that would be sending a virtue ethics Covid message to all of our community.
That being said, it is puzzling to see our Mayor and Council posting many photo-opts, some in groups indoors and some face to face with a single person...all without masks. That appears to be a vice Covid message they are sending and should be unacceptable to us all.
I believe that they have an obligation to ensure, to the best of their ability, adequate provisions of health care for all! Double standards unacceptable!
Could it be that Madame Mayor and her four Elk Grove City Council members find their elected jobs very boring which why the constant social media hype?
According to the NCL (National League of Cities), the main function of a city council is as follows: “City Councils are the legislators of a municipality who are democratically elected to decide which services will be provided and how to pay for them, among many other tasks.” Those other tasks include the approving the city’s budget, facilitating waste management, public works and public safety.
Fixing our city’s potholes obviously isn’t glamorous enough for them, so the five go around the city on endless photo ops.
The Mayor and her four minions need to sweep off the fluff a bit and realize that there are people in our city who need their attention to improving vital community services.
Wake up City Hall!
It's time to face your public. You've had a nice respite of conducting meetings in your jammies, but it's time to put your "big boy" and "big girl" pants on and return to public hearings.
Your refusal at this point is shallow and disingenuous.
