Big-wigs to host dinner at fancy downtown restaurant for Mike 'Lo Pro' Leary

Just like his 'campaign' meetings in Vegas, 'Lo Pro' Leary being hosted by rich real estate developers like Lux Taylor, Willian Niemi at expensive restaurant

Looks like Mike 'Lo Pro' Leary has quit skulking around Elk Grove.

In fact, you could say the Elk Grove city council member, who faces as serious challenge from Steve Setrick, is coming out of the closet with his developer buddies.

In an e-mail sent yesterday, Leary proudly announced a fund raiser reception being held in his honor at McCormick & Schmidt in downtown Sacramento. Who is hosting this dinner you ask?

None other than the North State Building Industry Association along with a host of developers who have conducted business in Elk Grove. They include Mike Winn, Lux and Taylor, Craig Nagler and William Niemi.

At least this much can be said about 'Lo Pro' Leary - he has developed the courage come out of the closet and is openly admitting to his closeness to real estate developers.

Thanks to this act of courage on the part of 'Lo Pro' Leary, we voters can now determine whether or not we want to keep someone with such close ties to the building industry on our council.

On second thought, given Leary's proclivities for meeting in Vega and living high on the hog from his political patrons ala Willie Brown, perhaps we ought to change is nickname to 'Viva Las Leary.'
