Elk Grove Police to Conduct Friday Night DUI, License Checkpoint.

As part of their on-going efforts to combat drunk and impaired driving, the Elk Grove Police announced they will be conducting a DUI and license checkpoint. 

The checkpoint will be conducted starting Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m, until approximately 3 a.m on Saturday, March 11. The checkpoint will be conducted at an undisclosed site within City limits. 

The checkpoint will focus on removing impaired drivers, as well as unlicensed drivers from the roadways. The public is encouraged to call the Elk Grove Police Department at (916) 714-5111 (emergency line) or 911 if they observe a suspected impaired driver. 

Funding for the sobriety checkpoint is provided through a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant that was made available by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
