An independent expenditure committee TV commercial targeting Democratic voters has called Democratic California Assembly District 10 candidate Elk Grove City Couniclmember Stephane Nguyen, a Republican. The commercial (see video below) has been in rotation this week.

In their effort to support Nguyen's opponent, Democrat Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra, the California Association of Realtors and California Apartment Association has linked Nguyen to figures unpopular with Democratic voters. Among those are Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones and former President Donald Trump.
Many political observers believe Nguyen, whose husband is an officer with the Elk Grove Police Department, could appeal to the large pool of District 10 Republican voters. So while the commercial could push away undecided Democratic voters, it could also inadvertently make Nguyen attractive to Republican voters, who could influence the outcome.
