Another Walgreen's Robbed, This Time Cops Catch Suspects

Taxi driver also arrested for possible drunk driving

Recently Elk Grove Walgreen's have been subjected to robberies. The most recent corner drugstore held-up was the Walgreen's on the corner of Laguna Blvd. and Bruceville Rd.

The difference is this time Elk Grove Police, with the help of an eyewitness, apprehended the suspected fleeing robbers.

According to police reports, a witness to the robbery called the police and identified the suspects' getaway car. Officers found the car on Laguna Blvd. near Hi-Tech Ct. and initiated an enforcement stop.

Police found the stolen money and the knife used in the commission of the robbery in the getaway car. Police arrested 20-year old Devin Johnson and 31-year-old Heidi Van Geystel.

Police detectives are in the process of investigating if this incident is related to other Walgreen robberies.

In other weekend activity, police arrested 41-year-old Preetinder Singh on suspicion of impaired driving late Saturday night. Singh, who was operating a taxi cab at the time was seen driving erratically as he tried entering Highway 99 at Stockton Blvd against the traffic.

Police also made arrests for auto theft, outstanding warrants, public intoxication, drunk driving and domestic violence.
