An Elk Grove teenager was arrested yesterday after allegedly becoming confrontational with an Elk Grove Police officer during a family dispute.

According to police reports, officers were dispatch to the 8300 block of Cantwell Drive regarding a family disturbance late Tuesday night. Upon arrival, officers contacted the 17-year old male who had been arguing with his father.

According to officers accounts, when they spoke to the suspect he became uncooperative, clenched his fist and challenged the officers. As a result of his actions, the youth was taken into custody and transported to juvenile hall.

The juvenile suspect was booked for obstructing a peace officer. The maximum penalty is one year in county jail, a maximum fine of $1,000 fine, or both.
